If the breasts are smaller than normal according to the size of the person's body ,or if the current size is normal but the person desires larger breasts ,  breast prosthesis ( silicone implant ) are used and is the name we give to the surgery to increase the volume of the breasts.

Materials used for augmentation

- breast prosthesis ( silicone breast implant )

- persons own fat tissue

- ready-made filling materials (hyalorinic acid-based).

Breast augmentation with fat tissue and ready-made filling materials does not give permanent results after a certain period of time, the breasts return to their original form.

Breast implant (silicone) surgery is the most commonly performed and accepted practice in the world. It has been widely used all over the World since 1960. It is Reliable and permanent. It does not need to be changed ever,  except by the persons option.

Does Breast Silicone Do Harm?  

- Does not prevent breastfeeding ( as it’s under the milk glands and channels) .

- It does not increase the formation of breast cancer .

-It is not a problem to have a breast ultrasound and mammography taken, and it will not cause confusion.

- Not toxic or allergic to the body.

- Does not explode (explodes in case of cutting-piercing tool injuries etc.)

We at the UÇEP Clinic Fethiye, use products with FDA ( U.S. Department of Health ) and CE ( free to use in European Union countries ) certification. I see great benefit in making sure that the patients should take extreme care in checking for these certifications.

What Are The Types Of Breast Prosthesis?

The following types of breast prosthesis can be used in accordance with the structure of breast for augmentation surgery by also taking into account the person's wishes:

-round  

- drop (anatomic shaped )

- high profile

- medium profile

-low-profile

- rough surface.

-- flat surface prostheses are available.

The using of which shape and volume of prosthesis to be used is decided according to the person's body structure, the shape and special requests. (please consult UÇEP for detailed information).

Where Is The Breast Prosthesis Placed?

Breast prosthesis can be placed according to the person's body structure, and the area is classified according to their relationship with the chest muscle ( pectoral muscle).

- above muscle placement.

- below muscle placement. It is divided into 2 as (Dual-Plane).

All the applications are made by me and I come to the conclusion by talking face to face together, with the person's body structure and wishes as the determining factor. Many factors such as the elasticity of the person's breast skin, looseness of the skin,  the amount of the existing breast tissue , or even whether the person's occupation and whether they do sports or not are determining factors.( Please consult UÇEP for further information )

Where To Place The Breast Prosthesis?

 The Breast prosthesis are placed, according to the doctor's personal preferences and the characteristics of the patient's breast

- from the nipple (periareolar approach )

- from under the breast line ( Inframammarial approach )

- from the armpit (axillary approach)

- the belly button ( not used in theory)

In the operations performed by the UÇEP Clinic, i do not use a single method,  but i apply my apllications according to the characteristics of the person, i either perform the operation from the nipple or the breast lower line.  

Who Can Have Breast Augmentation Surgery? ( SILICONE PROSTHESIS)

From the age of 18, all women who believe their breasts are small can have this surgery.

If there are indications under the age of 40 breast ultrasound,if there are indications over the age of 40 breast ultrasound, mammography should be considered.

- being small-breasted due to congenital,genetic factors.

- those who have breast reduction and sagging due to postpartum and breastfeeding.

-shrinkage due to weight loss.

- age-related shrinking.

- sport-related shrinking.

-those whose breasts have been removed due to breast cancer.

- women who have normal-sized breasts and want bigger and fuller breasts are suitable candidates.

Surgery

Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia under appropriate hospital conditions ,and after complete sterilization is achieved. Depending on the place of application, the duration of surgery varies between 1-3 hours. The duration of hospital stay is 1 day and the average recovery time is 10 -14 days. Person will use a special breast bra 3-4 weeks after the surgery. ( Please consult UCEP for detailed information)
